Strawbale Building Training
The
Strawbale Building Training Group was set up from the ESBG (European
Strawbale Building Gathering) held in August 2007 in Germany. We held
our first meeting in December 2007 in Italy. We aim to create a high
quality training course in strawbale building with a core of trainers
across Europe and where different modules can be taken in one or more
countries. We hope to have this training available by 2009.

Our objectives are :
1 to promote good practice in strawbale and sustainable building
2 to develop a Europe wide training programme in strawbale building
3 to disseminate the training programme widely
4 to train trainers to deliver the training programme
And our programme is:
1. To share knowledge, experience and information and to make the training widely available
2. To use external expertise when needed, eg fundraising, building methods, translation
3. To develop a curriculum and associated learning resources: handouts,
information sheets, literature, library of photographs, cds, website
and on-line learning resources
4. To translate the final training materials
5. To train a core group of trainers
6. To work towards certification of the modules of the training
We
are looking for fundraisers to work with us, people with professional
skills who know where to apply for funding and are successful in
writing applications. If you can help, please get in touch.
We also welcome donations to help us in this work. Please send
cheques made out to amazonails (on the back of the cheque please write
‘european training’) and send to either
Barbara Jones or Bee Rowan, amazonails, Hope Mill, Crescent Street, Todmorden,
5HA. Contact: bee@amazonails.org.uk or Barbara@amazonails.org.uk
In Italy you can put money on C/C postale n. 54859756 to Stefano Soldati writing: "donazione per SBT" .
